Savage Model 99EG Post-War Rifle (Chambered in .250-3000 Savage, Circa 1951)
Presenting a remarkable Savage Model 99EG, manufactured in 1951. This standard weight rifle features a 24-inch barrel and is chambered in the iconic .250-3000 Savage, known for being the first certified hunting rifle to achieve velocities exceeding 3000 ft/s in .25 caliber.
The Model 99EG initially featured plain unchecked pistol grip stocks until 1940, after which re-checking was introduced post-war, enhancing both grip and aesthetics. This particular model is not a takedown version, modeled after the 99G design.
In very good to excellent condition, this rifle retains approximately 90-95% of its original finish, with only minimal wear that does not detract from its overall appeal. The wood features a beautiful oak or walnut finish with a steel butt plate. The checkering on the pistol grip and forend remains sharp, enhancing handling.
True to all Savage 99 models, this rifle includes a firing pin indicator located at the receiver, providing additional functionality. This Model 99EG is an excellent collectible for any firearms enthusiast or a great addition to a shooting lineup. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to own this piece of history!
