Savage Model 99E Rifle (Chambered in .300 Savage, Circa 1951)
Introducing the Savage Model 99E, manufactured in 1951 and chambered in the classic .300 Savage with a 20-inch barrel. Often referred to as the “ugly duckling” of the Savage line, the Model 99E was designed as the economy rifle, lacking several standard features such as a left side cartridge counter, tang sight holes, walnut stock, and capped pistol grip. Despite these omissions, it remains an important piece in the Savage lineage.
This specific Model 99E exemplifies the economy design, retaining around 90% of its original finish. The blueing on the receiver shows some wear, with patina starting to develop. The stock displays a very good finish with sharp checkering, ensuring a solid grip.
The model designation is stamped on the left side of the receiver. This rifle comes equipped with a Bushnell Sports View wide-angle scope featuring either a 38mm or 40mm objective, securely mounted with matching Weaver mounts.
Additionally, it sports factory-installed sling studs and a durable steel butt plate, making it practical for field use. As the last of the original rotary magazine models, produced up until 1984, the Savage Model 99E offers both historical significance and a functional option for collectors and shooters alike.
Don’t miss the opportunity to add this special rifle to your collection—an ideal blend of economy and classic design!
