Savage Model 99EG, a standard weight rifle manufactured in 1947, post-war, and chambered with a 24-inch barrel. This model showcases the full checkering on the pistol grip and on the forend, a change introduced after 1940, replacing the plain unchecked pistol grips of earlier models.

This particular Model 99EG is in good condition, showing signs of use consistent with its age. The blueing is approximately 80% original, with patina visible along the receiver, adding character and indicating its history of use.

This rifle comes equipped with a leather sling and features a versatile multiple sighting system. It includes a Williams peep sight, along with an offset or see-through undermount system that allows for easy scope mounting. The rifle is outfitted with a Redfield 1.75×5 power wide field scope, providing excellent visibility for various shooting conditions.

As with most Savage 99 models, this rifle features a cocked chamber indicator and a round counter on the left side of the receiver for added functionality.
